Deep Cleaning vs. Standard Cleaning: Requirements and Differences

As a CleoCrew member, it’s important to know the difference between Standard Cleaning and Deep Cleaning so you can deliver exactly what the client booked. Standard Cleaning is upkeep. Deep Cleaning goes further, targeting buildup and hidden areas.

Standard Cleaning

Purpose

  • Keeps the home tidy and hygienic

  • Focuses on surface-level cleaning

  • Prevents dirt and dust from building up

What It Includes

  • Dusting and wiping surfaces

  • Sweeping, vacuuming, and mopping floors

  • Cleaning high-touch areas like switches and handles

  • Cleaning and sanitizing bathrooms (sinks, toilets, showers, mirrors)

  • Wiping kitchen counters, sinks, and appliance exteriors

  • Emptying trash bins and light tidying

When It’s Booked
Clients book Standard Cleaning when their home is already well maintained and needs routine care.

Time Required
Usually takes 1–3 hours depending on the home’s size and condition.

Deep Cleaning

Purpose

  • Provides a detailed, top-to-bottom clean

  • Removes built-up dirt, grease, and grime

  • Targets areas not covered in Standard Cleaning

What It Includes (in addition to Standard Cleaning)

  • Cleaning inside appliances like microwaves, ovens, and fridges (if requested)

  • Scrubbing grout, baseboards, and walls where needed

  • Cleaning inside cabinets and drawers (if empty)

  • Moving furniture when possible to clean underneath

  • Washing door frames, doors, and window sills

  • Extra scrubbing in kitchens and bathrooms for buildup

When It’s Booked
Clients choose Deep Cleaning for first-time visits, seasonal resets, or homes that haven’t been cleaned in a while.

Time Required
Typically takes 3–6 hours depending on the amount of buildup.
